Tamata Estate currently offers two distinct lodging options:
The Rimu Hut: An eco-friendly, off-grid cabin powered by solar energy and serviced by fresh rainwater. It features a queen bed on the ground floor and a double bed in the mezzanine, accommodating up to four guests.
The Estate House: A spacious countryside home with three bedrooms—two with king-sized beds and a bunk room accommodating six guests—suitable for larger groups or families.

Mobile reception can be limited due to the rural location. However, both The Rimu Hut and The Estate House are equipped with reliable internet connections (Starlink satellite internet and wireless broadband, respectively), allowing guests to stay connected.

Yes, children are welcome at both accommodations. However, due to the proximity of natural features like the river and farm-related hazards, we kindly ask that children are supervised at all times to ensure their safety.

Check-out: By 11:00 AM
Early check-in or late check-out requests can be accommodated upon prior arrangement.

The Rimu Hut is located within the farm and accessed via a farm track. While a 4WD vehicle is recommended, guests without one can park on the farm and use a provided farm vehicle to reach the hut.
The Estate House is accessible by standard vehicles.

To ensure the safety of all guests and farm animals, pets are not permitted at Tamata Estate.

Given the rural setting, there are limited dining and shopping options in the immediate vicinity. Guests are advised to bring groceries and supplies with them. The nearest towns with supermarkets and restaurants are Waitomo and Te Kūiti, approximately 30–40 minutes' drive away.

Because the property is remote, guests are welcome to host small gatherings or parties. We simply ask that you remain respectful of the house and surroundings throughout your stay. An additional cleaning fee may apply if the property is not left in a suitable condition.
